Post-Jam Updates
Cosmic Escape » Devlog

After the Player2 AI NPC Jam, I wanted to update Cosmic Escape so that it's at least a better slice of what it has to offer. So I worked more on building out the combat system I had in mind. It's pretty obviously inspired by FTL (a great game, by the way), but it's still very much a work-in-progress.
Changes:
- Shields system - like in FTL, blocks projectiles like lasers, recharges when hit
- Weapons system - enemy ships can be equipped with weapons (sorry, the player still can't do anything yet).
- Basic laser weapon, shoots 1 laser
- Basic missile launcher weapon, shoots 1 missile, bypasses shields
- Rooms and ship layouts system
- Supports 1x2, 2x1, and 2x2 rooms in a ship
- Rooms can be assigned a system (rooms don't do anything yet, but can take damage)
- 6 total enemy ships
- Enemies now fight back
- New settings menu
- Audio settings
- *Network settings - You can now connect to an OpenAI-compatible API server for the game's AI. See the install instructions for more info.
- Some new icons and UI changes.
